What started as a four-to-five day trip to Jordan turned into a spontaneous adventure split between Amman, the Dead Sea, and my home country, Lebanon.
We were a group of friends coming together from all over the world — Boston, London, Dubai, India, and even Russia — all to celebrate a dear friend’s engagement. From the moment we reunited, the energy was effortless; it felt as though we had known each other for a lifetime.
In Amman, we checked into the Four Seasons, where the engagement was held. The hotel was stunning — elegant rooms, impeccable service, and the perfect setting for such a special occasion. For most of us, it was our very first time in Amman, which made the experience even more exciting. From wandering its lively streets to soaking in the city views, there was a sense of newness and discovery that set the tone for the trip. Our first night, we gathered at Roberto’s Rooftop to take in the views and reconnect.
The next day was dedicated to the engagement itself, filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. That morning, before the celebrations, we headed to Rainbow Street and enjoyed a beautiful breakfast at Shams El Balad, a cozy spot full of fresh flavors and charm. It was the perfect way to start such a special day.
On day three, we headed to the Dead Sea and stayed at the Kempinski Hotel, which I couldn’t recommend more. From the infinity pools overlooking the water to the serene spa atmosphere, it was an experience of pure relaxation and beauty.
From there, most of us continued on to Lebanon — for many, it was their very first time. Experiencing my home country through their eyes was both surreal and heartwarming.
Our first night, we went to Capitole by analogue Rooftop dancing the night away and experiencing what Lebanon is all about before meeting pur friends at a techno party.
The following day brought sunshine at Bar du Port Beach in Jbeil, followed by a lively evening at Spine, one of Beirut’s most iconic rooftops. We recharged the next morning with a delicious brunch at Em Sherif Deli and coffee at Backburner Café.
For me, staying longer meant reconnecting with my best friends, who feel more like family, and rediscovering Beirut’s ever-changing charm. With so many new places open, I felt like a stranger in my own city — but in the best way. I especially loved seeing the vibrancy of Saifi Village, which has truly come alive.
Honestly, I could write pages about where to go, what to see, and how to experience Lebanon to the fullest — and I eventually will in a dedicated guide. For now, this trip gave me a fresh perspective, blending the joy of showing my country to friends with the excitement of rediscovering it myself.
